Some of my first recipes...I

I have been craving bacon a lot lately. I mean, salty meat, chewy, goes with lots of different foods. Here is the low-down on the plant-based recipe for bacon.
The ingredients you will need: soy sauce, pure maple syrup, hot sauce, ground cumin, and package tempeh. You mix the ingredients all together, and slice the tempeh into 12 pieces. Let the pieces soak for about 2 minutes on each side. Then cook in a nonstick pan over medium heat for about five minutes on each side. This is a picture of the tempeh marinating for the 2 minutes.

I was so excited for this tasty treat. I had lettuce, and tomato, all ready. I was going to have a make shift *BLT. I put it together, took a bite, and was not that impressed. read the recipe over again to see if I missed something. Then I saw a passage I somehow missed before. If you find it to bitter you can boil it for 8 to 10 minutes before cooking. Next time I will try that! I was not that impressed with it not boiled first. I did have high hopes.
My next recipe that I tried was the chickpea cookie dough. For this recipe you will need chickpeas, all natural peanut butter, pure maple syrup, pure vanilla extract, rolled oats, sea salt, and vegan dark chocolate chips. This actually hits the spots. The texture is spot on! When you are craving some cookie dough this really does help.

The next thing I tried was Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Nice Cream. For this you will need 2 large bananas frozen, all natural peanut butter, unsweetened almond milk, vegan dark chocolate chips. I actually added some monk fruit to this to help make it a tad sweeter. I feel that I am still adjusting. Other than that I feel this was really good!!

So far, the recipes are easy to make. My taste buds are getting used to the new plant based diet. It is not that bad. At first I did have a headache as I getting all the other things out of my system. I find myself reading labels of every day items. Learning what things have ingredients that are not plant based, that I never paid attention to previously. I am plugging along. Figuring things out and how it works for me.
